Blaze ABA provides in-home and community ABA therapy for children with autism in Mount Dora. Our Leesburg-based team comes to you, and every plan is built around your child's comfort, choices and goals, not a one-size-fits-all program.
Mount Dora is known for its lively downtown, and on festival and event weekends the streets fill with people, music and smells. For many autistic children that's a lot to take in. If enjoying those outings is something your family wants, we can make it a goal. That could start at home with practice using noise-reducing headphones, a visual plan for the day and a clear signal for “I need a break.” Later we might take short, planned trips to quieter places such as Gilbert Park on Lake Dora before trying something busier.
Some families come to us worried about what ABA will be like for their child. That's a fair question. At Blaze, your child's assent matters: if they're showing us they've had enough, we listen and adjust. We don't try to make children look less autistic. We focus on skills that help your child communicate, stay safe and do more of what they enjoy.
Our care is also trauma-informed, so we build trust before we push on anything hard. We learn from neurodivergent voices about what respectful practice looks like, and we share the goals and data with you so you can see exactly how things are going.
Most sessions happen in your home, during the routines that matter most to your family. That might be getting dressed, mealtime, sharing toys with a sibling or settling down at night. Practicing in the real setting means progress doesn't stay in a therapy room. If school is part of your child's goals, ask us how we can support what your child's teachers and IEP team are working on.
Coverage is often the first question Mount Dora parents ask. These are the plans we accept today:
Florida Medicaid covers medically necessary ABA for children under 21. A Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluation (CDE) and prior authorization are needed before services start, and we help families work through both.
Different insurance? Call and ask. If we can't help, we'll say so. Insurance details →

If it's a goal for your family, yes. We break big outings into small, manageable steps, start with preparation at home, and always respect your child's signals that they need a break.
No. We look for your child's assent throughout each session and adjust when they tell us, in words or actions, that they need something different.
